Swing Assembly is a unique 12 piece band. The band core group consists of music performance degreed musicians from the prestigious NIU school of music. Band instrumentation consists of: both male and female vocalists, piano, guitar, bass, drums, tenor sax, alto sax, baritone sax, trombone and 2 trumpets. We play a huge variety of music; Big Band Swing, Pop, Rock, Motown, Latin, R&B, Blues and even Disco.
The band plays at outdoor concerts and festivals, corporate parties, birthday parties, local bars, restaurants and weddings. In addition to awesome live music, we throw in DJ/MP3 during band breaks to get the best of both worlds.
We like to MIC the entire band to get the right mix for the room. We have 1000W JBL EON powered mains, 1000W Yamaha powered monitors, Shure mics, wireless mics, Yamaha 16 channel mixer, quad 32 band equalizers, etc.
In addition to the 12 piece band, we also offer Jazz trios, Jazz duos and Jazz piano to supplement cocktail or dinner hour of a reception. We also offer piano for the ceremony.
